-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

Saks Fifth

Contrary to the Fashion Week "flaunt," a collective of anonymous designers ravage the runway with an air of mystery. Of 8 covert contributors behind Section 8--Akeem Smith of Hood by Air--confirms, "we just lived through an era in which getting too much attention made someone the actual president, so we're like, we don't want attention." As "fashion" becomes bundled under a brand, creativity is often obfuscated by reputation or expectation. This week's Fifth Ave. windows at Saks mingles a multitude of merchandise in an aggregate anonymity. Keep reading for more...

#SaksHoliday Land of 1,000 delights +Saks Fifth Avenue ; this set by +Proenza Schouler

When things go awry, impulse almost always wins, actively assigning blame or wallowing in ailments. This new year, let hope guide and uplift. The windows of Saks' Land of 1,000 delights fills Fifth Ave. with saccharine sets of candied delights. Sweet replaces sour and notable designers (e.g. Carolina Herrera, Marchesa, Erdem, Jason Wu) showcase "candy couture" dresses patterned after sweet treats or bespoke candy-inspired Spring 2017 creations (e.g. Rosie Assoulin, Naeem Khan, Alexander McQueen, Jonathan Simkhai). "The Winter Palace" #saksholiday windows at Saks Fifth

The 'view from the top' is mercifully magnificent. Where tunnel vision directs focus on singular circumstance, take a step back and witness the whole for what it's worth. This week's Winter Palace windows (albeit a bit late) at Saks features ladies in lament, wearing wonderous white wardrobes. Welcome, winter. Keep reading for a look at #saksholiday...

Louboutin display at Saks Fifth Ave

Vanity strikes a pose in the windows of Saks Fifth Ave. In Louboutin's lustrous display, a peacock with spines of lipstick poses proudly. Passers-by become the pleasant face of the perched peafowl. Down the way, a Halloween-themed workshop and Louboutin lounge project scenes built around the red-soled shoes. Keep reading for a look at all sides of Saks' shoe-themed showcase, including Manolo Blahnik's clever curtain call...

-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

Bergdorf Goodman Men's 57th St and 5th Ave.

Wednesday windows have been on hiatus for several weeks as pressing priorities call for compromise. With a more relaxed timeframe Tuesday, I've collected a compendium of options (and may even feature 2 sets this week!). In reviewing my digital photo roll, the men's windows at Bergdorf Goodman solicit a much-needed smile. Keep reading to see the rest of this week's windows...

Saks Fifth Ave. windows celebrate and congratulate Parsons graduates

Finding fault is a natural response when projects derail. At the onset of war at the workplace, I've employed reverse psychology to distance defeat. Simply asking advice for improvement prompts a prettier path to success; those who think they know everything already limit their threshold of learning. This week's windows at Saks Fifth Avenue showcase the work of Parson's graduating class. Oh, to be 21 again-- when mistakes form a firm foundation for knowledge building. -WEDNESDAY WINDOWS- #SAKSGLAMGARDENS PART 1

#SaksGlamGardens in the windows of Saks Fifth Ave., NYC

On a mission to pick up a mini-pie from Magnolia Bakery this past Memorial Day, I did a double-take, distracted by the magnitude of flora in the widows of Saks Fifth Avenue. Were they fake? Were they real? Dozens--hundreds of dozens--of roses, orchids, daffodils, grass and topiaries mingle with cutting edge cosmetics in a timely tribute to Mother Nature. Fine Fragrances, beauty products and a consortium of cremes debut in a captivating springtime showcase. Keep reading for a look into #SaksGlamGardens...
