Bergdorf Goodman 58th St. windows // "Scavenger Hunt" window

New adventures--with a newborn in tow--serve as a perfect parallel to this window at Bergdorf Goodman. As 7 weeks of parenthood pass, a trickle of all things baby has taken residence in the apartment and a natural flow of feeding and changing emerges. Every day presents a new perspective and a shift in priorities. Through ups and downs, the approaching holidays remind me that there is much to be thankful for; this year cements a marked milestone in maturity. Keep reading to see more and stay tuned for a glimpse of NYC's hottest holiday windows...

Bergdorf Goodman, 58th and 5th windows

When stress creeps up, get grounded in the 'big picture.' Remind yourself that one mistake or situation doesn't define a lifetime of "you." Let the present pave the path to a promising future--Hang onto happiness. Lament and let go. Smile and step forward. The future is a second chance at today and every next day is a new beginning. Take note of this week's windows at Bergdorf's, where sunny vibes set the tone for a stress-free summer! Keep reading for more...

Bergdorf Goodman Fifth Avenue Holiday Windows

The holidays draw neigh as windows fill with a festive flavor. The smells and sights of evergreen compliment the flicker of decorative lights and sashay of shopping bags. Savoring the sweet, the stale and the surreal, the spirit of celebration is in the air. This week, have a look at the windows at Bergdorf Goodman, Fifth Avenue. Saccharine styles compliment candy-clustered conceptions, channeling cheer to curious crowds. This year's Fifth Avenue corridor boasts a host of holiday magic--time to take a stroll. For those far from NYC, keep reading to see more...

Prada at Bergdorf Goodman

Revisiting the slogan "Good design is good business," IBM, Apple and other top tier corporations swear by design's strategic value. Beyond creative conceptualization, augmented aesthetics are the ultimate drivers of success. "Design" broadens the horizon of inclusion--whether via a-gendered bathroom icons, handicap friendly-products (like this) or branded slogans that incite reaction from both supporters and opposers (like this). Most consumers are naturally woo-ed by "pretty" things; add an element of practicality and a well marketed message to create prime products. This week's windows at Bergdorf's continue the conversation Prada started all down Fifth Avenue--from the Prada Store to Saks and Bergdorf's! Keep reading to see more...

"Peru" themed windows @bergdorfs

First world glamour patronizes ageless glory, as another birthday passes. "Adulthood" brims of unrelenting trials and unthinkable perks; this past weekend marks a milestone in heuristic nirvana. Beyond a credit card clone crisis, a stampede at the Global Citizen Festival and lost belongings, Libra-esque fortune procures an equally balanced fate. I confirmed adulthood with $8,000 worth of designer products (paid only a small fraction of cost), polished off one of every dessert on the menu at LRooM Cafe with 4 besties and seriously considered a $2.7MM NYC apartment. Despite a double decade of drama, life is finally good... mostly. And You? Have a look at Bergdorf's Peru-themed windows and start settling into Fall....

'Untitled' Installation by Hannah Levy at Bergdorf Goodman 5th Ave. NYC

Design influences, inspires, incites. In pursuit of a creative career some 20 years ago, the thrill of creating, educating and visually articulating... boasted promise. While, "art" signifies a piece of work meant to invoke a feeling or thought (sometimes confusion!), "design" prompts a creative conceptualization and communication process; there's something unduly satisfying in translating ambiguity into tangible, relatable reality. In honor of NYC x Design (May 11-23), have a look at the window installations at Bergdorfs featuring installations by Hanna Levy, Hayden Dunham and Lena Henke...

Bergdorf Goodman #BGClub58 windows

Sequins make a comeback, headlining Fashion week's runways and lining Fifth Ave. roadways. Back in September, Tom Ford's deconstructed disco ball aesthetic rivaled Coach's sequined slip-dresses and sequin-infused sportswear by Monse. Marc Jacobs, Sachin & Babi, Oscar de la Renta and Greta Constantine--among others--compete with equally shimmery styles. This 'round, the F/W 2018 lineup sparkles with sequined suits by Christian Cowan, Chanel and Alice & Olivia. On Fifth Ave., Bergdorf Goodman's BG Club 58 windows are ablaze with reflective looks by Paco Rabanne, Alice & Olivia, Peter Dundas, Oscar de la Renta and more. Keep reading to see the spread...

To New York with Love Holiday Windows at Bergdorf Goodman showcasing 7 local institutions; New York Philharmonic

In a surprising twist, management's favorite phrase--"sustainable competitive advantage"--migrates beyond the boardroom and into casual conversation on transformative marketing strategy. A couple weeks ago, my friend Juliana invited me to a talk hosted by Consumer Dynamics called the "Amazon Effect." In rapid pace, the tides of influence have turned, empowering small businesses in a world once-dominated by corporate commercialism. Where big brands can buy celebrity support, small ones directly reach individuals through manufactured "credibility" generated by bloggers, vloggers and social media. While completing last minute preparations this week, have a look at Bergdorf Goodman's holiday windows, highlighting seven NY cultural institutions. Inside, one-of-a-kind cultural experiences and exclusive gifts are on offer, with a percentage of proceeds donated...

Pre-holiday windows at Bergdorfs on Fifth Ave, NYC

Over lattes and laments, an epiphany of sorts. "Success" has long been a definitive black or white, with grey branded the disgraced 'in between.' Yet, as age amasses, maturity amounts to an acceptable medium--graceful acceptance of criticism prevails over perpetual "right"-ness and rapid recovery triumphs over perceived failure. Context crushes assumption, absolving insecurity. Keep reading for this week's windows at Bergdorf Goodman and reflect on the figurative seats on which we sit...

"Seeing Through The Material" windows by Benjamin Shine at Bergdorf Goodman (nice play on words!)

Fashion's formidably elite have found favor in the floating faces of Benjamin Shine. In 2013, Riccardo Tsici collaborated with Shine to create a series of sweatshirts--Madonna and Madonna & Child--for Givenchy's S/S 2013 collection. A collaborative piece--Face Coat--was recently commissioned by John Galliano for Maison Margiela's Artisanal collection this past Paris Fashion Week. Until August 3rd, "Seeing Through the Material"--Shine's latest endeavor is on display in the 5th Ave. windows of Bergdorf Goodman. The magnificient oeuvres d'art require 40 - 50 hours (eyes open = up to 100+ hours!) of handiwork, 20 yards of tulle, many needles, thread and an iron. Keep reading to see all 5...

Bergdorf Goodman Fifth Ave. NYC

Slight delay in posting this week--the good news is that I'm in Virginia Beach, away from the office. The bad news is that we're missing Olympics Opening Day celebrations back home. It's a banner year for athleticism with 11,239 participating competitors representing 205 countries. This week's windows at Bergdorfs showcase different animals, each with unique agility, speed and instinct. What would you answer when asked, "which animal do you identify with?"  Fraternal fashion frenzy @Bergdorfs

Plant print and fancy floral are fashion's feature flaunt this summer. With Father's Day upcoming, this week's windows at Bergdorf Goodman on Fifth Ave. present a playful spin on paternal presence. While khakis, neckties and all things conservative make up a generic impression of "dad," Bergdorf's candid cuts and patched pants remind us that most men have endured an awkward stage of angst. Keep reading to see the full set of windows and when you have a moment, Netflix Touch for a feel-good episode of the father/son experience...

In honor of the MET Museum's Manus x Machina exhibit

In a world of cloned and curated, digital dominates. Devices deliver dreams and dangers; dependencies dull the divide between Man and Machine. The Metropolitan Museum's latest Fashion exhibit illustrates the perfection when "Man-Made" and "Handmade" approach equilibrium. This week's windows at Bergdorf Goodman honor  Manus x Machina and amplifies the synthesized style Technology has enabled designers to create. Keep reading for more..

While Birthdays, Anniversaries and other memorable moments multiply with age, cyclical celebrations compound as an epidemic of Hallmark Holidays seep onto schedules.
