Street art duo Icy & Sot share silent statements through stencil art and the launch of their new book at a temporary pop-up in the Lower East Side. Entitled Let Her Be Free, faces of freedom stare back from whitewashed walls, with childlike defiance. With summer weekends waning, Lords and Ladies, warriors and wenches alike gather in Sterling Forest, Tuxedo Park for a midsummer celebration of post-medieval masquerade. Since 1978, Elizabethan England assumes the epicenter of entertainment at Renaissance Fair, weekends from the first of August to September's end. Over 65 acres of fantasy and forestry become laden with with 16th century vixens in velvet, artisans, pirates, musicians, actors and a variety of vendors. Since Brazilian brand Melissa first hit home with its legendary "jelly shoe" in 1992, coveted collaborations with fashion innovators Vivienne Westwood, Gareth Pugh, Karl Lagerfeld and others have emerged, naturally blurring the line between fashion and art. Through concept spaces in Sao Paulo, NYC and London, Galeria Melissa showcases the artistic vision and inspiration of distinguished artists along with rotating influencers on the Melissa brand.
