Congratulations to the winning window display at Saks Fifth Avenue by Corey Ring and Kristen Eichenberg from FIT (team #4)June starts a month-long celebration of dads and grads. This week's windows honor the graduating class of 2013 and feature the entrants of Saks Fifth Avenue's DDi Student Window Challenge. The winning display by Corey Ring and Kristen Eichenberg of FIT holds 3 mannequins garbed in citrus-toned Alice & Olivia, with their faces shrouded by paper pyramids.

For an entire day, 6 pairs of visual merchandising students from FIT and LIM College worked on designing, assembling and perfecting a single window display with minimal guidance from Saks visual directors at the Saks Fifth Avenue 49th St. store. At 5PM on June 6th, judging began. Winners were awarded a one day mentorship with the Saks Visual Design team, $500 Saks giftcards, American Ballet Theater tickets and print exposure in DDi magazine.

Personally, I love the sheer serenity of the blank white backdrops. Notice how the color orange makes a presence in 3 windows across different designers. If you look carefully, some of the mannequins have facial features and other fun characteristics! It seems that each school created a window incorporating draped fabric, shapes and hangers. Looking at the bunch, which is your favorite? Do you think the FIT students have the edge or do you think the LIM students did it just a little better?
