-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

Moncler, Soho // Preview of the Fall/Winter Collection: Moonray

Robots are re-fashioning retail. From the spray painting robots on Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 1999 runway to Chanel's chic model-bot mannequins, technology has embedded itself in fashion. Beyond tech wearables (think Google Glass, fitbit, Nike self-tying sneakers) and innovation in manufacturing (e.g. 3D printing and laser-cutting), Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly tapped to trend customer behavior and create competitive advantage. Videos, thermal imaging software and accelerometers are part of a new crop of retail technology that capture and analyze consumer cravings. Creepy or creative--what do you think? While you debate, have a look at Moncler's F/W Moonray windows--Remember when the moon landing was technology's next big thing?....

-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

Moncler, Soho NYC

Netflix has narrowed my horizon of free time, while simultaneously allowing access to a cruel world through divergent lenses. Most recently, an unwavering cycle of catalysts and consequences has invaded my TV by way of Wentworth, Orange is the New Black and Rectify.  Prison--as fictionally exposed--becomes a caustic community with fair-weather friends and impulsive instinct. This week's windows at Moncler depicts the less expected onset of inner demons. Keep reading to see more...

-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

Moncler, Soho NYC

The countdown to Christmas is neigh. As warm weather welcomes a wet winter, step into the seasonal spirit with sights sets on hope. While wandering the web on a work-less weekday, I spy a floating school in Lagos that is answering Nigeria's power shortage and skim an article on "fashion santa" raising money for sick kids, ever so stylishly. Keep reading to see this week's windows and reminisce on themes for thanks this holiday...

-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

Hervé Leger, Soho NYC

In a hotbed of hype, the bandage dress emerged in the eighties and stunned many of its androgynous counterparts. With side-slimming sass, the "King of Cling," Azzedine Alaia, paved the way for Hervé Leger's namesake style. This week, the windows at Leger's Soho store showcase a new take on a signature style. Keep reading to see neon, fringe and cage as applied to body con...

-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

Moncler on Spring St., Soho NYC

Sun, moon and stars align to introduce a slew of sleepy days and sinister nights. As clocks fall back, darkness shrouds the onset of sleeping bag jackets, fleece-lined hoodies and woolen stockings. Set in Soho, Moncler's windows showcase an assembly of planetary bliss--complete with a space-traveller garbed in goggles, gloves and fur-lined intergalactic egg. Where would you go in a spaceship?

-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

Ta-Da! Feather-capped femme at New York Vintage, Chelsea

Center stage is a petrifying place for some and a boundless comfort zone for others. Confidence oozes from every word of the well spoken while uncertainty hides intellect behind a wavering whisper. From business meetings to celebrity limelight, what attributes of public persona do you admire?

-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

Isabel Marant, Greene St. Soho

Time stands still in fairytales and noxious circumstances. As life dangles menacingly by a thread, sometimes a hero (or heroine) swoops in to save the day. This Wednesday, Soho's windows wow with public displays along the theme of "challenges." Would you rather... be stranded on a desert island or a barren iceland? If you're having a tough week, be inspired by Michael J. Fox, Cinderella, Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. In the face of adversity, there lies ample opportunity. When times get tough, it's time to get tougher!

-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

 Odd on Ludlow St.

A couple days of nice weather had me out and around town, peeking into the windows of shops I haven't seen in awhile. Along the way, I stumble on a couple old style TV's (working!) and a sleeveless mannequin at ODD, a new high-end boutique selling off-beat styles. The combination of the weary weather and the woman in the window create an eerie presence, much like a basement scene straight out of Criminal Minds.
