A year ago, my honey and I were traveling the twists and turns of Tuscany, on an idyllic  Italian adventure. The winding roads and frequent stops (for 1 Euro espresso) rejuvenated restless languor with a renewed sense of relaxation (that has been absent in the year since). Like MC Hammer and Harem Pants in the 80s, going out on a limb can spark an overnight worldwide style sensation. With a rise in new technology, manufacturing methods and up and coming designers, what kind of calibrated couture will be en vogue next?

Squares, stripes, blocks, honeycombs... It's almost Fashion Week, and two recurring trends in this week's windows involve repeating shapes and companionship. There's something clean, soothing and almost dependable about repetition. In some cases, it provides the perfect backdrop, focusing attention on expertly styled mannequins. With the resort season in full swing, it makes sense to see pairs and pals heading out together, to enjoy winter in a warmer climate.
