-WANDERLUST WEDNESDAY- FTL MODA @ GRAND CENTRAL STATION

Anna's Loud S/S2016 Collection at Vanderbilt Hall/ Grand Central Station as part of the FTL Moda Fashion show

Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Station set the stage for FTL Moda's groundbreaking runway Sunday evening. Redefining industry standards, Carmen Steffens (US), Anna's Loud (Italy), Archana Kochhar (India), Andrea Wild (Germany), Hendrick Vermeulen (South Africa) and Alexandra Frieda (Netherlands) emphasize that beauty is inclusive... of gender, race, physique, age and ability. Casting role models as runway models, women with prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs--and some men--are included in showcasing the SS 2016 lineup. Keep reading for scenes from the show...

 Matching shoes + bag

Opera soprano Samantha Guevrekian leads the charge, clad in Anna's Loud and belting preliminary notes of anticipation. Presenting a beachy palette of sand, surf and sky, Anna's Loud experiments with asymmetry and a balance between soft fabrics and hard edges. Entitled "Sakura," the collection "takes inspiration from the cherry blossom to create the image of a strong, passionate but ethereal woman, fascinated by Japanese culture, who keeps moving amid the metropolitan chaos" [source]. Rebekah Marine a.k.a. 'Bionic arm' model is the spokesperson for the brand.

...and then there was a swimsuit...

Asymmetry is a key design element

Show opener--Carmen Steffens with supermodels Toni Garrn(L) and Adriana Lima (R)

Carmen Steffens opens the show Sunday evening with edgy Brazilian style. Slits, see-through and cutouts are paired with with high and low hemlines. Founder and owner Mario Spaniol is seated next to Drew Barrymore, who clapped enthusiastically at the presentation. Toni Garrn and Adriana Lima are among the supermodels sharing the Carmen Steffens runway.

My collection favorite on Toni Garrn

Archana Kochhar dresses

Beige and bridal are the main components of Archana Kochhar's Spring/Summer 2016 collection! Kudos to the hair and makeup team for a wonderfully complementary gold-themed thesis. The dress of note--exuding comfort and fitted tailoring--is worn by a wheelchair bound model.

Beautiful in beige and bridal!
