STYLE SNAPS : BREATHTAKING BLING @ BAUBLEBAR'S SUMMER POP-UP

Bauble Bar Pop-Up at 131 Greene St., Soho

Bargain Baubles by way of studded bracelets, beaded bibs and budget-worthy bling land in Soho Thursday evening with the opening of BAUBLEBAR's 4,000 square foot pop-up. Until August 13th, shoppers can browse and buy any of the eTailer's assortment of trendy treats. With most items priced between $20-$40, walking out with something sparkly for the summer is uncharacteristically guilt-free!

Interactive Touch station

Before the masses descend on opening day, I catch a few photos of the space. And space a plenty! In addition to the long tables of meticulously merchandised jewelry, guests can linger at interactive stations equipped with ipads and a variety of touch technology. Nifty mainstays such as a photo booth and Indulgence Bar serving Godiva cocktails add fun to a fashionable experience. At the back of the store, customers (or their significant others) can relax in the lounge area and enjoy the high ceilings and natural lighting.

A glimpse of the back half of the store space

Until Thursday, Baublebar was simply another glorified online retailer in my mind. The brand is certainly talked-about but, being a naysay of online shopping, I'd never sought to sample any of it myself. Being able to touch and try the product is certainly a strong selling point. Pretty pictures online may not always translate well onto a wearable wardrobe--especially with bold and trendy pieces. While Baublebar's quality can't be compared to higher end jewelry makers, the variety and affordability certainly makes up for it. This is fast fashion, after all.

Get Glamourous with style advice from store staff

The staff at the pop-up is extremely friendly, energetic and ready to style you into a Superstar. After trying on a basketful of baubles, my favorites of the bunch are the gold scaled Kaa bangle, the pastel Ziegfeld necklace and the Cerise arrowhead collar. I didn't walk away with anything new, but I do have a new place in mind for accessorizing for the next special occaision.
