MARILYN: THE LOST PHOTOGRAPHS OF A HOLLYWOOD STAR @ SUMO TRIBECA

Marilyn Monroe: Grey Fur Session 2 photo by Milton H. Greene (1956); Taken during the filming of "Bus Stop" [photo credit: Limited Runs)

Model, movie star and media sensation, one woman singlehandedly redefined 'sexy' and 'style' in the late 50s. Known to most as Marilyn Monroe, the innocence of Norma Jeane Mortenson became eclipsed by the blonde bombshell persona Hollywood helped invent. Posthumously, Monroe continues to captivate the masses and remains an inspiration to artists and actresses alike today. In a stunning show of 38 never-before-seen photographs, Limited Runs presents Marilyn: The Lost Photographs of a Hollywood Star for five days from July 22-26th at SUMO Gallery in Tribeca. Keep reading to catch a glimpse of the images on view...

STYLE SNAPS : STYLE ME SILLY!

That's me, jumping on the bed, in a Dalia McPhee dress with a lampshade

This weekend warranted a break from the sights and sounds of NYC. Trading noise for Nature, I booked a yurt for one night, rented a car and grabbed my honey... Oh, and I brought along one of the "too good to pass up" sale dresses I never wore. What better occasion than a weekend in the woods (of the Catskill Mountains) to break out a fancy frock and stage a photo shoot. Have a look and let me know what you think!

-IN MEMORIAM-

Bergdorf's 58th St. windows showcase pages from Reed Krakoff's new pictorial, Women in Art: Figures of Influence

Happy Memorial Day! Raise your glass in a virtual toast and an immeasurable outpouring of thanks to those who lived, loved and served in our nation's armed forces... And let's not forget the friends, family and unsung heroes who have passed on in recent years. In memoriam, take a moment to reflect on the achievements of those who touched your life--if even briefly-- and left an everlasting smile on your soul.
