Lights dimming, Pre-show at Christian Cowan, Spring Studios
It's LIT Saturday afternoon as party hats, neon lights and sassy, see-thru styles parade down Christian Cowan's runway. Saturating Spring Studios with bountiful bling, a steady stream of sparkle and shine ends a harrowing wait for elevator service (to enter the show). An assortment of casual wear, party wear and sportswear--interpreted with maximalist appeal--comprises Cowan's Fall/Winter 2018 collection. Keep reading for a look inside...
Flouncing fuzz is "in" this year!
Inspired by Amy Winehouse lyrics, "Escapism to the max" defines Cowan's F/W 2018 assortment. Short, sequined and sporty-chic pieces push the bounds of "fun" with conspicuous glitz. Preying on proportions, short shorts + a crop top is paired with thigh-high rhinestone boots; a cropped fur hovers atop long yellow pants and slinky sandals. Noticeably, several past-season silhouettes resurface, in iterative perfection. This season, Cowan collaborates with Stuart Weitzman on shoes and CHRISHABANA jewelry to complete his looks. Notable mentions include a jean dress with two full sleeves of watches, a bright red fur jacket with a lighted neon heart and a spectacular show-ender--a silver sequined dress with a lighted neon pink dress silhouette. While the lineup may benefit from a tighter edit, delicate details apparent in hair, nails and makeup keep me pining for more!
