Delicious Objects exhibit presented by DRAFTspace at the Highline Loft features 27 International designers
Love From Venus (LFV), Australia
Infused with culinary elements, jewelry becomes the main course, served with flawless execution and excellent plating technique. Atop two long tables veiled in white, each designer is allotted a place setting to display a tightly edited selection of their bespoke designs. Metal, gems and mixed media are on the menu with modern interpretations of artistic adornment. Each designer brings something special to the table. Bianca Makris' crochet, chain and grosgrain collection captures a commanding corner section with her bold use of scale and materials. Vienna based eletrodorn converts digitized subjects into jewelry made of new materials. Elaine B's geometric isolation is cleverly highlighted in her pieces; my favorite is the treatment of diamonds in the invisible diamond ring. Hong Kong based Oblivion presents a sculpted amalgamate of leather and metal. A delicate deconstructed simplicity is present in Roula Dfouni's geometric forms. Alongside the jewelry are small handbags by Lapidis and Jie-Euen Choi. Click the links within the post to view more of each designer's offerings.
