The Windows at Bergdorf Goodman, 5th Ave. and 58th St.
Niki Taylor, Alexander McQueen and Tony Viramontes-- proof that life is short and true talent is unforgettable. Filling its windows with a taste of the 80's, Bergdorf Goodman pays tribute to Tony Viramontes with a little help from Altuzarra, Zac Posen and Dean Rhys Morgan's new illustrated book Bold, Beautiful and Damned: The World of 1980s Fashion Illustrator Tony Viramontes. Stuck between punk and glam (or just hiding underneath prim shoulder pads) are the vivacious memories... How were the 80s for you?
Bergdorf Windows honoring Tony Viramontes
I just turned 33--about the same age as Tony Viramontes when he left behind a legacy of artistry and fashion illustration. In such a short time, Viramontes rose to fame in the fashion world, producing images for Chanel, Christian Lacroix, YSL, Versace and others. Sharp lines, vivid colors and soft pastels christened the Viramontes' style and captured the attention of an admiring public.
Interesting that the mannequins have the same hairstyle as the LV mannequins accross the street (check out last week's windows)
These ladies have lost their minds... heads...etc...
