-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

Roy Lichtenstein inspired windows at Barney's New York

Memorial Day starts another season of wearable whites and sultry summer adventures. Break out the bathing suits and bikinis--the beach is once again open for fifteen fun-filled weeks (until Labor Day)! Barney's welcomes the season of sun with windows filled with colorful pop-art infused beach balls, frisbees and picnicware. In partnership with the Roy Lichtenstein foundation, Barney's and the Art Production Fund created a collection based on the pop artist's comical finest for summer. 25% of the proceeds will go to the public art program supported by the Art Production Fund. Head here to have a look at what's left of the limited time offerings.

Giant paper cup, pop-art style

In the era of Andy Warhol and Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein set himself apart through parody and comic-strip style imagery. While much of Lichtenstein's work involved bright primary colors, he's also known for monochrome paintings that illustrate common objects. Earlier in the month, Mod designer Lisa Perry threw a party in honor of the Barneys/Roy Lichtenstein Foundation/Art Production Fund collaboration. She currently carries several tribute pieces inspired by Lichtenstein's designs.
