The smell of wood and the upbeat sounds of the holidays resonate throughout the winter months as the new year approaches. This week as I walk through the streets, I take note of the festive wooden forms and the allusion to music in the windows. While some storefronts are still dressed for the holidays, quite a few retailers are starting to inch towards 2013!

In other news, tulle is slowly seeping into storefronts everywhere! In Soho, both Christian Siriano and Lilith employ the malleable material in their displays. Soon, ball gowns and sequins will take center stage as we prepare to ring in the new year!
