-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

The laid-back ladies of Alice and Olivia on Greene St., Soho NYC

At 34, I'm easing into the zone of 'middle aged.' College acquaintances have converted into decades-long camaraderie. 'Like' has transitioned into life-long 'love' among friends. Intuition undermines impulse and coffee has risen in the ranks as a beverage of choice. In loaded reflection of 'want' vs. 'reality' as applied to the age-old queries of "when I grow up," I realize I'm still guessing on, grasping at, gaining from and --most of all--grateful for the mundane moments, lessons learned and opportunities still to come. I'm still wanting and growing and 'being'... and very much considering "what I want to be when I grow up..." Happy Wednesday and have a look at this week's windows from Greene St., Soho...

Forecast of Fog with a side of Fashion, Saks Fifth Avenue

Storm clouds gather overhead as vital decisions are communicated this week. With a day left of NY Fashion Week 2013, 5 (out of 6) Democratic mayoral candidates lament results from Tuesday's NYC primaries and the American people await the final word on action against Syria. Moreover, many commemorate the tragic loss of life 12 years ago today. Come tomorrow, a new perspective will dawn for some, both in the land of freedom and the City of opportunity. 30 oz soda ban? Disaster Recovery plans? Terrorist Intervention? Where do your loyalties lie?

MANNEQUINS WITH MESSAGES IN THE MPD

White mannequins carrying signs stand in Gavensvoort Plaza as part of a silent protest #CottonOrNothing

From Wall Street to WalMart, Manhattan has seen its fair share of protesters in the last year. Popping up this fashion week, pasty white mannequins silently picket mystery fabrics. Standing solemnly with signs in Gansevoort Plaza, frock-less figurines fight in favor of cotton. Who wouldn't want odorless, comfortable clothes? Stop by to say hi or star in a Cotton or Nothing movie short.
