Spotted! : UT Mobile Pop-Up

Uniqlo's UT mobile pop up in Soho

Resembling a cross between an idling container truck and a wandering Winnebago, Uniqlo's trunkload of tees tempt passersby to stop inside. UT's newest men's and women's tee styles hang under a bevvy of colorful Uniqlo ads. With the tap of a smartphone, visitors can download an ap and create photos and videos of themselves wearing UT styles to share socially. Have you spotted this mobile pop-up?

Uncanny! Andy Warhol x Uniqlo

Uniqlo at 34th St

Getting graphic has always been a strong suit of Andy Warhol, one of the premiere pop artists of the 20th century. Known for his iconic silkscreen prints of Marilyn Monroe, Mao Zedong and his paintings of Campbell's soup cans (32 different flavors!), Warhol "challenged the world to see art differently" according to the Foundation bearing his name. After his death, the Andy Warhol Foundation was established to extend Warhol's legacy of advancing visual arts. At the end of 2012, Target was selling limited edition cans of Campbell's Tomato Soup. This Spring, Uniqlo partnered with the Andy Warhol Foundation to create a collection of tees and tunics for its UT line. Now everyone can wear a Warhol work of art!

-WEDNESDAY WINDOWS-

 Odd on Ludlow St.

A couple days of nice weather had me out and around town, peeking into the windows of shops I haven't seen in awhile. Along the way, I stumble on a couple old style TV's (working!) and a sleeveless mannequin at ODD, a new high-end boutique selling off-beat styles. The combination of the weary weather and the woman in the window create an eerie presence, much like a basement scene straight out of Criminal Minds.
