PICK, PLAY, PIRCH-ASE

Tub as big as a mini pool in the Lower Lobby of Pirch, Soho

A full chicken roasts atop freshly grilled vegetables in Patio, while warm steam seeps into a corner shower two floors below in Sanctuary. Children wrestle an iPad to alternate operation of 40 different shower heads as newcomers order caffeinated beverages at Bliss. Elevating the try-then-buy experience, luxury home furnishings retailer Pirch opens in Soho this weekend. Dominating the corner of Broome and Lafayette Streets, the new flagship is Pirch's 9th store. Occupying 32,000 square feet of retail opportunity, Pirch NYC features over 30 interactive vignettes. Keep reading for a look inside...

Consultation space in the Bath area

Unabashedly lavish, the 'Bergdorf Goodman' of home furnishings offers a curated range of investment pieces, brandishing big names like Sub-Zero, Viking, Wolf, Miele and Thermador, along with unique offerings from Apaiser, Kalamazoo, Bertazzoni, Lynx and one-of-a-kind others. Pirch spares no expense enhancing the customer experience by offering free beverages, live cooking demos and weekday/weekend classes (tips and tricks for cooking and using the appliances). Close to 500 gas and water lines have been installed to encourage visitors to fully interact with appliances and plumbing products before purchase. After touching and testing tons of taps, toilets and tubs, my favorites include the asymmetrical Oman bath by Apaiser (made from recycled ground marble), an evervue mirror with a built in TV and and a toilet that comes with a remote and a sensor to raise the seat when your foot hits a blue light on the side.

Customers can pair the interchangeable facets with the basins to see make a perfect pair

Opening weekend is filled with energy; the store's team of Lifestyle Advisors exude the Joy at the core of the retailer's value proposition (to "Live Joyfully"). Given the free flow of champagne, span of the space and surprises at each turn, it's no wonder that shoppers meet or exceed the average 2 hours and 11 minutes typically spent browsing in-store. Generating over $225 Million in 2015 sales, Pirch seems to be peddling prime product under a perfected the sales model. Impressive, if I may say! Stop in 200 Lafayette St. to see for yourself!
