Sunday morning blackberry picking at Terhune Orchards, Princeton, NJ
Weekends without obligations grow scarce with age. This one was like any other--filled with family, food and celebratory festivities. With a few sunlit hours left to lap up Sunday morning, my honey and I drive to Terhune Orchards. Taking advantage of the sun and scenery, I pair a bright red Von Vonni transformer dress I had been gifted with a red sun hat from my mom's closet. Breathe-able air, delectable blackberries and an impromptu photo shoot set the stage for a fashionable end to an exceptional weekend.

An avid admirer of scarves, sarongs and convertible clothing, I am quite the cynic when it comes to my own ability to successfully style such pieces. Taking the Von Vonni dress for a test drive opened up a whole new realm of exploratory test and tell. After a couple hours outdoors in a fruit field, my transformer dress experience yields two words: comfort and versatility. Though the two "scarves" seem cumbersome at first, they make for an endless spread of sensible (and sensual) style. Which look do you like best? See some superior styling here.

Aside from the culture and creativity, my favorite part of NYC is leaving on the weekends--this City girl loves the country life (especially the seasonal fruit!!). Out on the farm, blueberries and blackberries are ripe for the pickins. The apples are readying for a cider-filled Fall. Come October, farmers will be busy bundling cranberries from Jersey bogs. What's your favorite fresh fruit?

Surprisingly, each blackberry had a different taste in the wide spectrum from sweet to tart
